I've been interested in photography since the age of seven when my mother dug out an old twin-lens reflex camera from the closet and gave it to me. I recall the excitement of hiding under the picnic table in our backyard to take pictures of the birds that visited our bird feeder. The photos were worthless, with the birds appearing about 1/1,000 lifesize on the film, but to me they were gems. What discouraged me was trying to cover the cost of film on a $0.35 per week allowance.
During the past four years, I've pursued photography on a more serious level, learning a great deal from Andy's class as well as talking with other photographers and reading books and magazines. My passion is nature photography, including landscapes, wildlife, and macro, with a great interest in travel photography as well. I was fortunate to have lived in Kyoto for a year, but that's a place you can spend a lifetime photographing without getting bored, so a year wasn't nearly enough.
I hope you enjoy my images.
